Coláiste Ghobnatan is situated in Baile Mhuirne on the northern side of the Muscraí Gaeltacht, nine miles from Macroom and nineteen miles from Killarney.
The College is named in honour of Saint Gobnait, patron Saint of Baile Mhúirne and indeed we place all our work under her protection. 
Coláiste Ghobnatan offers an extensive curriculum to cater for all students’ interests and every effort is made to help all of them in the pursuit of their chosen careers. The College offers nineteen subjects in all and is equipped with the most up to date computer system.
As is clear from the College Motto ACHIEVE YOUR BEST a high standard of work is demanded of every pupil according to his/her ability. To support that, an excellent career guidance service is in operation and a remedial education programme for those with learning difficulties. In keeping with the philosophy of A SOUND MIND IN A SOUND BODY Coláiste Ghobnatan places a big emphasis on sport. As a result, quite often our football teams and other sporting teams achieve the highest awards and indeed a number of pupils, both past and present, have played on the Senior County teams. 
Of course, we are very proud of all the College resources, the College staff, our pupils and of the various educational resources at our disposal. Undoubtedly, we are always endeavouring to improve our work in every way so that our College will always be at the forefront in the world of education.
